pursuit 31 seattle | candyland adventures

a few months ago i had the amazing opportunity to attend the pursuit 31 retreat in san francisco (you can check out part 1 here and part 2 here). because of that, i’ve kept a close eye on future events with the fabulous ladies.  when the seattle theme was announced i couldn’t help but drool!  now don’t get me wrong, the shoot in san fran was spectacular; however, the idea of candyland adventures for a wedding made me squeal a little…ok, so maybe a lot.

those who have been keeping up with me know that i am fairly close to the due date of our second child.  the idea of jumping on a plane by myself to get to seattle wasn’t exactly on my top ten list of best ideas.  i’d pretty much resolved in my mind that i wasn’t going to go.  after all, i’d be too puffy, too sore, too busy, too whatever…to attend.  once again, my studly man of a husband decided the opposite was going to happen.  secretly he was praying that the shoot would be awesome because otherwise he knew he’d be blamed for my discomfort afterward if it wasn’t. ;)

so, at pretty much the last minute we finalized plans…booked a hotel room the night we departed, packed, and managed to drive to washington – my camera bag in tow, puffy pregnant marshmallow lady and all.  and all i can say is wow!

the sweet, yummy details…made all the more spectacular with organic bloom frames, yummy treats by sweet melody’s, and gorgeous florals by paisley petals.

a candyland themed event wouldn’t be complete without cupcake commons or a chocolate mountain!  the colors are so appealing, and just looking through these images is making me crave things i shouldn’t be eating…

nothing was overlooked…

not only did we have yummy details to photograph, but gorgeous models to boot!  the vibrant colors carried over in the fabulous bella umbrellas…and yes, of course there is rock candy in the bride’s bouquet!

i had so much fun working with all the models.  aren’t they stunning?!?

the dresses, designed by ouma, were a perfect fit for the theme!  and i almost forgot!!  these gorgeous photos were taken at the tacoma museum of glass – a spectacular location!!
