the seasons have officially changed in mt. shasta – and so has our firstborn.
sweet chloe, the moment we saw your picture we knew you were the one. when we were the first to visit your litter to officially place our claim on you, there was a hint of hesitation in your daddy’s eyes until you went over to him and flipped on your back so he could rub your belly.
you gave us many sleepless nights as you learned how to spend the night in a crate. you cost us a little bit of money when you decided that the memory cards mom left on the coffee table were more fun to chew than your toys. you taught us the basics of child rearing in the continuous training that you required. you taught us that going for walks together as a family is the best part of the day.
and now, with a baby in the house, you’ve shown that you can put others before yourself by watching over her and spending much of your free time inside so you can keep an eye on her…so mommy decided to reward you with a romp in the front yard – because, sadly, it’s been much too chilly for a walk. (oh, but mommy doesn’t appreciate it when the birds are more interesting than she is and you refuse to look at the camera!)
i know it’s a little late, but happy fall!!
(it looks like fall even though it feels like winter)
