As Heather drove her new motorcycle around, she was oblivious to the conversation that was taking place. It was in those moments that Josh asked for her father’s blessing to marry Heather. Throughout relationships, little things happen that make us remember just why we love and are committed to someone. In that moment, when this story was revealed to Heather during her father’s speech at their wedding reception, it is safe to say that Heather realized yet another reason as to why she loved her new husband so much…and if possible, a little bit more than she did before. And simultaneously as tears began to show, so did a beautiful sparkle of even more love, respect, and adoration for this man that she will spend the rest of her life with.
Heather and Josh, it has truly been a pleasure getting to know you over the past year. Thank you for allowing us to share in the immense joy of your union as man and wife. Your wedding day was a gorgeous reflection of your uniqueness as individuals and as a couple. We wish you many blessings as you begin this new life together!
Heather and Josh are from Oregon while their many relatives are from California. They decided to have a “Party of a Lifetime” destination wedding at the beautiful Mount Shasta Resort. Their wedding was a true DIY event featuring their own designs, creativity, and handiwork in the majority of the decor.
Heather and Josh went out and cut their own wood for use throughout the event to incorporate a woodland tree theme into their wedding day. This served as a representation of the Arboretum in Portland where they had their first conversations that led to the start of their relationship, and where Josh later proposed to Heather.
Personalized invitations, guest book, escort seating chart…the works!
If that wasn’t enough, the cake topper was custom made as well! Josh owns Design Anything 3D – you should definitely check out his artistry and facebook page for the latest goodness! (His work was recently featured on i.materialize)
Sublime Cake Design is the talent behind this gorgeous wedding cake!
The groom’s cake was pretty awesome to say the least!
The jars used in the center pieces once stored her grandmother’s jam, and each table was named after a different woodland tree.
The toasting flutes were etched by the couple.
The sweetheart table with cowboy hats that they decorated…
Heather and Josh got ready at the Shasta Ranch Bed and Breakfast. Heather made her own accessories and the necklaces that her bridesmaids wore.
These titanium rings were also custom designed by Heather and Josh!
Josh shared with us a puzzle box that he made as a gift for his bride…let’s just say we were well beyond being amazed at these two by this point in the day – and the wedding hadn’t even started yet!
Their beautiful ceremony (that took place on May 26th) began at precisely 2:26pm – to mark the anniversary of their first date and the day that Josh proposed.
Mount Shasta Florist is responsible for the gorgeous floral design.
After they shared their first dance…
Heather surprised Josh with a fully choreographed dance to an arrangement of Michael Jackson songs…complete with backup dancers, shades, and a sparkly white glove. Now that is true love!
Heather and Josh had an absolutely perfect wedding day!
