once upon a time, in december of 2007 to be exact, his family decided to visit heritage baptist church one sunday morning while he was home for a visit.
she felt like the Lord wanted her family to invite them over for lunch – and they really weren’t sure how it would play out because they had never invited a family over for leftovers before. they came though, and all had a wonderful afternoon.
at that time he was an assistant pastor in indiana, but the families began to get together whenever they were all home. she really wasn’t particularly interested in getting married at that time. he wasn’t even considering her as a wife.
they began to get to know each other over email. in april of 2009, he asked her father for permission to pursue her heart toward marriage. he moved out to california a year ago so that they could more earnestly pursue the Lord’s will.
skipping ahead to october 23rd…
she and her parents met him and his parents at the church they attend in larkspur to spend the day together. there in the church auditorium he told her a very special story that he had written in college and asked her to be his wife. she was honored.
and that is the beginning of bethany & doug.
i have known bethany for a long time…somewhere around 13 years. so when she asked me to be her wedding photographer i literally squealed with excitement. it brings me so much joy to watch little ones grow up, become beautiful adults, fall in love, and marry the partner of their dreams – all while fulfilling God’s perfect plan for their lives.
we got together for an engagement session after thanksgiving so i could meet doug – and to begin telling their story. bethany and doug, thank you for entrusting me with the task of capturing your blossoming relationship. i truly am thrilled to be your wedding photographer and can’t wait for that very special day.
the weather man said rain so we came prepared…and it’s a good thing we did!
bethany and i get along great…mostly because she thinks i’m funny. ;)
remember princess? i wasn’t lying.
details…details…it makes me laugh when i look through all the images we take during a session. i am sure our clients never thought their hands and feet were so interesting!
it really started pouring so we went to another location and found shelter in a gazebo.
the beautiful soon-to-be bride…
and the handsome almost-groom…
so happy together…
